Pontoon Park to Chelsea Tunnel TH

  • Route: There two choices of where to start this walk.
    • You head south across the new bridge. There is a good climb up to Redford, Dr. Then back down to Chelsea.
  • Option 2 is starting at Chelsea Rd and Arthur Rd. Option 1 hook in here. You head west along the power line corridor. You follow the trail down to Arthur Rd and turn north of Chelsea Rd Tunnel.
  • Surface: The trail is the soft-surface trail. It is a wide rack trail design. Approximately 3 feet wide.
  • Rating: The rating on this section of trail is Blue Square more difficult rating.
  • Distance: These are the strenuous walks of Option 1 id 4.1 miles Option 2 is 3.1 miles. Option one had 350 feet of elevation gain. Option 2 had 219 feet of elevation gain.
  • Parking: Parking is not an issue. There is parking on the Pontoon Park and off-road parking around the Chelsea Rd and Arthur Rd. There is also parking at Chelsea Rd and Prescott.
  • Notes: These are excellent walks. Make sure you have water and a map. This is a fun route, expect to run across a lot of other walkers and cyclists. You're never far for civilization.
  • Carry water and a phone when walking the trails.
