  • Route: Start: Lake Ann Trailhead go East on Pinyon Creek Trail at the triangle intersection turn right (east) on the Pinyon Creek Trail cross Trafalgar Dr.
    • Turn right (east) stay on Pinyon Creek Trail it is 2.08 miles to the Back 40 Trail.
  • Turn left to the North on Back 40 Loop

  • Surface: The trail is the soft-surface trail. It is a single track design.
  • Rating: It is rated has a blue square medium rating.
  • Distance: It is a pleasant walk of 2.08 miles. It took less than 1 hour. Traveling west to east, there are 133 feet of climbing and 209 feet of descent.
  • Parking: There is good parking at Flo Ride/Pinyon Creek Trailhead. We parked the chase car that the Carroll Electric Substation GPS 16050 Waybridge Dr.
  • Notes: Pinyon Creek is a moderately flat trail with moderate elevation change. With one expectation, the elevation changes are long easy climbs. There are a lot of ledges and large rocks on the route.
  • There side trail that takes you to the top of Lake Brittany dam. It is a 1/4 mile side trip. It is well worth the walk. For those interested in circle walk parking, the Lake Brittany Dam gives you lots of options for them.
  • Carry water and a phone when walking the trails.
